In this world, everyone, even animals, have a genetic anomaly classified as "Complete Heterochromia Iridis" where everyone has two different eye colors. Only in THIS world, one of your eyes is the eye color of your soulmate. Your true eye color is in the eyes of your familiar. Your familiar is your spirit guide/guardian angel in the form of an animal. Your eyes will only take the true color once they have stared into themselves with the force most powerful in this strange world. Love. In this POV, our protagonist is a 16 year old girl named Omari. Surrounded at school and all around her by people "finding their eyes and losing their minds," Omari finds herself hoping, wishing, and even doubting that she'll find her eyes. In a world of greens, and blues and auras and hues, what will happen her love is found, but her eyes aren't?

Linnea, the story's main character, believes her childhood best friend is her soulmate, but she soon learns that there are tricks to this color system. Sometimes, color can be falsely seen in faint hues and sometimes, the person you thought was your soulmate really isn't. When she meets Jade, she learns that perhaps your soulmate isn't exactly the person you imagined.
