Vaeyra and Her Dragons

This is the story of how Vaeyra The Bloody got her name.

Vaeyra was the last born child of Queen Aemma and King Viserys Targaryen. Her birth brought on her own mother's untimely death. And she hated herself for it.

The King, however, loved her enough for them both. He saw Aemma in his daughter's eyes. She grew to be fierce and outspoken, raised along side her half siblings. Along with them, Princess Rhaenyra, although several years older, formed a strong bond with her sister.

Not everyone in her family had love for Vaerya, though. Queen Alicent hated Vaeyra, even if her children adored the princess.

At the mere age of 11, Vaeyra mounted the great dragon Vermithor, second to only Vaegar. When she is later wed to Prince Daemon, the Blacks claim her as their own. But when her love finds itself also attached to her half brother Prince Aemond, green bleeds into her heart.

Vaerya, although having love for all her family, finds herself in middle of their war. Hatred from both sides forces her in the middle.

Between her Sister and Brother for the throne.

Between Daemon and Aemond for her heart.

When darker forces and ancient Old Valyrian magic is thrown into the mix, Vaerya struggles to juggle duty and desire.
