2 years after Christian lost Satine. The Moulin Rouge never opened again. Prostitution and drugs got worse. Crime got worse. Poverty got worse.

And then Violette arrived. Unknown that the Moulin Rouge was closed to her, Violette arrives in hopes to join it. Her pathway leads to Christian. A broken woman trying to survive and a broken man still grieving, an unlikely friendship forms.
