The end was only the beginning.

Nearing the end of the third Thargoid war mankind is very nearly extinct, and the only inhabitable world left is earth, all others have been rendered utterly destroyed in the wake of the 'goids bio-orbital bombardment, only Sol and her planets are left.
In the final charge, I overcharged my FSD drive with experimental exotic matter, and sped towards the oncoming fleet of bioships, and as my commanders deck began to depressurize I closed my eyes with a smile allowed unstable witch-space to claim me, and half their bio-ships.

I accepted death, but apparently death hadn't accepted me.
