I huddled in the corner of the dark room I had been thrown into. I was the only one out of all the villagers to have been selected by Them, a fact that relieved everyone but me. My body stung from struggling to escape Their grasp when They dragged me here, deaf to my pleading, oblivious to my struggles. Now as I sit in the dark, my fears have grown to the point of being nearly unbearable; I was going to go mad with fear if They didn't come soon. Questions plagued my mind. Why did They select me? What was going to happen to me when They come back? What would They be doing to me? Would I...survive?

All that was told to us before today was that They would be selecting one of the village girls and take her with Them when They left. No matter what, the girl chosen would be taken away. It made no difference if the girl or her family resisted Them, the results would be the same. I hoped that I would be able to escape Them once my name had been called, but I was wrong. So very wrong.

Pushing off the sink in irritation, I turn to leave but he grabs my bare upper arm. My blood boils in annoyance while my skin tingles with excitement. He perks a brow, obviously sensing it. "Your aura is in disarray," he states bleakly. "Yeah, no shit Sherlock." My Earthly phrase earns me a tilt of his head and I scoff. "Where have you been, Beta?" "On a mission in the Xin Galaxy." "Okay? Would it not be wise to inform your OA of any missions that require your departure? Let go." I pull against his grip and he reluctantly lets go. "Yes, however, this mission did not require your presence nor your opinion," he replies candidly. My eye twitches and wordlessly, I turn away once more but his grip on my arm returns, this time more gentle, as if pleading rather than restraining. "I only meant that this mission did not require you to accompany me as my OA in pretence. It's safer to stay with your younglings out of sight anytime the role is not needed," his voice softer. "You disappeared after you..." I pause and shake my head. I feel embarrassed to say it out loud to him. I feel embarrassed at how much it affected me. "After I kissed you," he finishes for me, the silence following the words adds to the thickness growing in the air. _____ Wrongly accused of being a rebel conspiring against supernatural beings, whom she never thought existed outside of her world of anime fiction, a nightmare plagued Lyla becomes a wanted fugitive. she and her two young children are forced into hiding in a foreign yet beautiful world thousands of galaxies away from Earth to escape her death sentence. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't see. An intense bubbling pressure filled my mind and a burning pain filled my body like lava. Was I moving? Fighting? I couldn't even tell. The pain is unbearable, and I have never felt so detached from my mind ever before. Is this death? All at once the fiery burning pain that filled my veins turned to ice, and a new pain formed, sending my body into a shock. I could feel my teeth chattering like a woodpecker on wood, and hear it slightly also; Why can I shiver but not scream? My thoughts didn't carry far, as I felt my body come slightly back into my control, the pain still under my skin and ears ringing. I started thrashing and yelling due to my new found control of my body. My voice sounded foreign to my ears, and came out more a gargle than a yell, something was in my mouth. I felt hands against my arms, restraining me and voices speaking quickly and hushed. A sharp pain in my neck brought me darkness and the pain finally stopped. Number Three is thrown into a confusing trial of tests regarding her new found abilities and developments, although she is left with no memory of what was before. All she knows is that her existence is for Project Interitus, or that's at least what the doctors who run the facility say. Luckily for her she isn't alone in these new found discoveries, three colleagues join her, One, Four, and Seven. All of them are wary and unsure of the facility in which they stay, nor trusting of the people who run the trials, as they continue to dismiss and silence any questions or thoughts they have regarding how they came to be or what they're there for. Memories resurface, and curiosity grows stronger as this group of test subjects become closer and more intuitive, making it more of a challenge for them to be controlled without rebellion. What is the purpose of her abilities? Will Three ever regain her memories of the past or did she never have one to begin with? Lets just hope she survives.

Or Skip the chapter. 18+ ______________________ The year is 3999. Nearly a thousand years after a alien infection was set loose by the intelligent lifeforms know as Irinaut. No one knows exactly how they were able to make such a infection, but it was capable of destroying nearly all life on Earth. Those who couldn't hide or make it to the ships to escape their home planet, were left for the Irinauts. These alien lifeforms were capable of controlling human bodies, infecting them with their black dust, impregnating fertile human female's, and growing the Irinaut's massive companions, the Yeti's, a less evolved version of the Irinaut. Earth is gone. Nothing more then a ball of dust. After the people fled on ships, they traveled to their new hope. It was a place of solitude. The human race was able to flee from the foreign infection, but for how long? Luna was frozen on the ship. For nearly a 200 years, their ship had traveled. Many people had been placed in a cryogenic state. That of which kept them from aging as they made their way out of the infection. For them, a place of safety, The Solar Sun. The Solar Sun space ship was the closest landing unit in the solar system. Many others would have to be traveled to after refueling and preparing for another two or three centuries of being in a cryogenic state. For Luna, the girl hopes that space would be her escape from the aliens that destroyed their Earth, but that was only the beginning. Upon arrival, the ship is found infested. Luna and a small team of scientists had come in hopes for finding a cure for the strange virus, only to find the virus had taken over most of The Solar Sun, following a few escaped Irinauts. The Solar Sun is their last hope, and their last escape from these beings, but what's to be found there will change everything.

"Hey! I don't want to go back! I tap out. Turn my soul into particles. I refuse!" I was unwilling. I had goals before all of this. I was once naive until everything changed. Nonsense! "Host, there's no need for drama. Accept your fate." I reached for anything-air, darkness, anything! The struggle felt so real. The terror and horror of returning to that place overwhelmed me. I loved them, yes, but not enough to endure that suffering again. I am a flower. A fragile flower. What they did to me was- "I don't want to go! I refuse to comply." "Host, do you want her to have them?" The system's cold voice whispered. Startled, I released my grip on the darkness, allowing my soul to be drawn away. "Your decision was wise, but as punishment, two more males will be added. Their last lives served well; it's a pity they'll be taken by another." The voice continued, but the host was unaware. She would discover the truth upon her arrival. To add intrigue, the latter parts were erased, allowing her to accept them without fear. The system smirked knowingly. This is my second life. I am still utterly confused about how I ended up in this situation. A choker made from my own tears. The man I thought was my big foster brother turned out to be-non-human. And me? I am human; I think I am. I sit in his lap, curled into a ball of loss. I feel so lost; I just don't understand. I claimed them, and then the world ended. It's enough that it ended. But why did they become powerful shifters while I mutated into a dud? I'm so confused that I want to cry, but I can't; I don't want their 'care.'
