On the day before her 19th birthday, Millie Carton gets kicked out. Unlucky, right? This is just one event in a chain that forces her to live like she's stepping on eggshells - until she accidentally steals a plane ticket to Washington.
Optimistic as always, she takes it as an opportunity to start over, but after realising life isn't actually like it is in the movies, she finds herself alone on the streets yet again - this time in an entirely new place. She soon meets Kurt, an intriguing man with intense blue eyes, and quickly catches feelings. He introduces her to his band and the rest of his friends, and she finally feels at home and begins to slowly piece her life back together.
When she starts a band of her own which on a stroke of luck becomes popular, Millie's fame begins to grow along with Kurt's - and so do their feelings for each other. But a previous relationship has left him broken, and his addictions begin to spiral when his ex starts to cause even more trouble. With romance and rockstardom becoming increasingly complicated for the both of them, will Millie be able to pull herself and Kurt out of the darkness before it closes in on them?

*sorry for any typos lmao also some dates are slightly messed up to fit the storyline <3
A story of two people living a lifestyle where it can sometimes seem like the party never stops. Kurt and Lily are trying to figure out how to keep their passionate relationship alive when everything from fame to drugs is tearing it apart. From the start of the story in the spring of 1990, to the height of Nirvana's fame, Lily and Kurt navigate the trials of young love in entirely uncharted territory...
Much of the inspiration for this storyline came from The Menzinger's song and music video for After The Party (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghTYSXQnqbg) as well as the album itself so I'd highly recommend watching and listening in order to understand the full picture. Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy :)
