When Kate, Michael, and Emma Wibberly are told that their summer will be spent with their reclusive godfather, Gabriel, in the mountain town of Cambridge Falls, they're happy about it - it's the chance to spend time with Gabriel that they've been hoping for, even if its only due to Michael and Emma's habit of making trouble. Still, though the siblings are excited for their summer, they have no way of knowing the exhilarating, weird, and sometimes horrifying events that will happen next.
See, Cambridge Falls is far from an ordinary town. The magical mingle with humans every day, monstrosities lurk in the forest, and legends both strange and sinister are whispered by locals. The Wibberly siblings are pulled into this new world, with Michael looking to uncover all the knowledge held in the valley, Emma craving an adventure, and Kate trying her damn best to keep them out of trouble. Exploring Cambridge Falls fills their days, as does bonding with Gabriel, who finds his heart, so bitter after being scorned many times, opening to the three children, especially brave Emma. Even as he deals with the usual characters of the town, both shady and not, Gabriel finds himself feeling as though he finally belongs.
Yes, summer is looking endless and full of possibility. But even as Michael befriends Wilamena, the richest girl in town, even as Kate finds herself spending more and more time with Rafe, a city boy and young magician visiting his cousins, something dark works beneath the exciting exterior of the town. There's a wicked past waiting to be dredged up, and an apocalyptic future looming. If the Wibberly siblings want to survive to see the next school year, and save the friends they cherish, they'll have to fight a variety of foes, and even the end of the world itself.
Summer vacation wasn't supposed to be so deadly, but Cambridge Falls doesn't like to follow the rules. Fortunately, neither do Gabriel and the Wibberlys.

Book #4 in the Bonds of Fate series.
"You left me. For 2 years." Killian's voice shook with the force of his emotion. "You chose to leave me."
"Leaving was the best thing I ever did. I won't apologise for it."
"Now you expect me to give you another chance?" His voice was angry, but he knew in his heart that had already forgiven her.
How could he pretend that he wasn't in purgatory the entire time that she was gone? Or that seeing her again, was the first time the world seemed right again? How could he pretend that he didn't love her when all he wanted was to take her in his arms and kiss her senseless?
"Just give me a chance to explain, please Killian." Rachel pleaded; it was strange he had never seen her bend so easily to anyone. She was a wildfire that couldn't be tamed, so then why did she look like her flames had been quietened?
"Give me one good reason that I should."
"Our daughter."

When his parents decide that Rachel is not the mate that they want for their son, they threaten to drive the couple apart.
