Phoenix has no control over the life she was thrust into, has never thought of rebelling against it. Yet there's a part in her that wants to, a part in her that wants to feel. She doesn't understand the dynamics that are her life, but she wants to. Come hell or high water she'll find herself again!

We know you have powers; we can sense them on you. We can do this because we have powers too. We call it magic. And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. But in this underlying world of Adepts, Demons and secrets within secrets, unlocking their potential will be harder than you think. ~^~^~^~^~^ So, this is my 2014 Nanowrimo story, which is basically an attempt to rewrite Phoenix, where it shall go through major changes in plot, characters as well as effects of my new-and-improved writing style. Claws of the Empire
In between Weapon X and the X-Men, Logan finds himself stranded in a world that leads him straight in the path of a warrior with claws as sharp as his. She's a traitor to her people, fresh out of her empire's cage, but still not free. He's still trying to convince himself he doesn't care, hiding under the old mask of "wrong place, wrong time." Both of them are liars, and both of them know it. He's in deeper than he realizes, and he can't stay away from a warrior with the pain and heart to match his own. A re-work of an original story I started, but removed before I finished. I ended up completely changing the POV while keeping the story intact, because I have the worst case of "can't leave it alone-itis."

A Song of Faithless Shadows
Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF.
