This comes from a story a friend and I wrote a few years ago but with completely recreated characters and a slightly different storyline.  Originally known as The Island Story.

When a group of year 10 students go on an expensive school trip to different parts of the world and view some new cultures, Skylar Thistle is finding herself having to confront some old faces while Piper Heartly is feeling nervous about flying over the ocean to Brazil on Wednesday. But will their worries soon turn to reality when the plane to Brazil crashes on a strange island in the middle of the North Atlantic ocean?
With only few survivors and resources will they manage to survive the harsh wilderness? Will they manage to survive the truths they keep from each other?
