Three years after her grandmother died, Ash is struggling to survive, but everything changed when her adoptive siblings bring back Aang, an airbender, and trigger a Fire Nation raid on their village.
Alas, like every main female character in fiction, she also has her fair share of secrets to keep.
Her time has come to travel the world and find a way to heal her sight, all while being chased by a banished Prince and his loving Uncle.
Will they find a way to coexist? Or will the Fire Nation snuff out the hopes of rebellion forever?

Ash, the OC in this story, has been blinded. Due to the in story explanation, one of her main character motivations is to find a way to heal herself and regain her vision.

With that out of the way, here is my general Author's Note.
The chapters for the episodes "The Storm" and "The Blue Spirit" have been swapped to better serve the narrative.
Our protagonist Ash is seventeen, and Zuko has been aged up to be eighteen. Some timeline things have been moved to reflect this. Kya's death, Lu Ten's death, and Zuko's banishment all happen two years before they did in canon. The Fire Nation ship at the South Pole was also stranded much later in this story.
I don't own Avatar the Last Airbender or any of it's characters/ideas.

Fire is deadly and can leave a path of destruction along the way, fire can scar. But so can Water. Like Fire, water can freeze into ice and can leave many cuts and scars. Both can be deadly when misused. Water and Fire can't be too different. Or are they? Zuko is a fire bender, but not just any fire bender he is the son of the fire lord. Kadia is a water bender, the daughter of the village Chief. When events lead to Kadia being captured by the fire nation Prince she realises that although Fire and Water are often referred to as opposites, they might not be so different after all. Kadia learns to realises that the many lessons she learnt growing up where nothing but prejudice. Or where they? Can she get over her emotional scars and learn to heal? Or was everything she witnessed an elaborate act all along made by the fire prince and his uncle? An act to trick her in letting her guard down and betray her siblings and the Avatar. Will she be able to trust again or does this scar run too deep to heal? Secrets Until Known... (Avatar Aang Love Story) Book 1/3
Book 1 or the Trilogy. This fanfic is set in the middle of the 100 year war, NONE OF THE CHARACTERS HAVE MET EACHOTHER. Sokka (15 years old) and Katara (14 years old) are brother and sister who both attend the Omashu Boarding school.  Sokka's girlfriend is Suki, who is a Kyoshi Warrior who stays on Kyoshi Island. She is 15 years old. Zuko (16 years old) and Mai (16 years old) are girlfriend and boyfriend, Ty Lee and Azula (both 15) are best friends and Azula is Zuko's brother, Zuko and Azula's dad is Fire Lord Ozai. They also go the the Omashu Boarding School but are feared as are the rest of the firebenders. Aang (14 years old) is the Avatar and has mastered Air and Water but still has to master fire and has done a little work in earth bending, without anyone finding out who he really is. Sophia (14 years old) is 'The Legend' which is the partner to the Avatar, she can learn all the elements and contact the spirit world, she has mastered Fire and Air and has started earth but still needs to do Water. In this fanfic, they are going to a boarding school in Omashu to learn bending. The world has been Avatarless for 100 years, but what they don't know is that they are going to school with him. Avatar Aang was found in the Avatar State by a WaterBender in the Northern Tribe, Princess Yue. His partner Legend Sophia was found in the Legend State just off the coast of the Northern Air Temple. When she managed to escape she ran away to the Water Tribes. She had been there ever since, protecting the defenseless people from the ruthless Fire benders as well as her bending. A new Air Bender appears, and it didn't take long when a Fire Navy ship arrived the deserted icy lands of the South.
