Alice Trent is a girl of logic. She is practical and stubborn, being a 23 year old woman who did not attend college. Her father could afford the dues of her education, but Alice refuses to attend. Her father, Mr. Trent, makes his money in all of the wrong ways. She meets a soldier in the midst of her escape from home. James Gatz might have forgotten her, but she has never forgotten him. What will happen?
