19 year-old Cale Ryder is forced onto the fast track to fatherhood when his parents come home from their second honeymoon in caskets. Along with the family ranch, Cale inherits his 3 teenage brothers and his kid sister, Brandi, AKA "the princess." Cale doesn’t have time for a lot of nonsense and quickly lets everyone know there’s only room for one alpha dog in the fight to keep the family together. Battling a busybody aunt, child protective services, and the rigors of ranch living to provide for his siblings, he tries not to wonder what life would be like if he could do what he wanted, instead of what everyone else needs.

On a particularly bad day, she quits her job and impulsively books a ranch holiday to Montana. Unsettled by her life, she is moved by the beauty of the Montanan ranch, Prairie Point. With a new sense of belonging that she has never known before; she meets a mysterious, intensely charismatic cowboy, Dade Hudson.
