The year is 1918, in Northern France. This is private Tyler M. Goodrich's experience of the first World War. He is certain that joining the army would be a death wish, so he has been keeping up with a journal so that one day someone can know the true terror and hardship of war. These are those entries.

And unfortunately, curiosity killed the cat. Many of the others began to read the pages, which led them all to realize that Alfred was a whole lot different than what they'd thought he'd be, for being the personification of the United States. Several twists and turns begin to crumble, as a hidden secret between Arthur, Matthew, and Alfred comes to light.
