Brae was a perfectly normal 16 year old. She had a "boyfriend" but hated when people called him that. She was even a freak about doing her homework and studying. Enter Mathew, the new guy. Automatically she is drawn to him. But when her sister is kidnapped by men that were actually after her she finds herself following him and her best friend Abbi to a place she only dreamed of. She has a story and home that is anything but the normal life she thought she knew. Mathew is not just some new guy. He is her Guardian. He has sworn to protect her because she is a Faerie princess with powers she only dreamed of. So what happens when Brae starts digging into the girl she was supposed to be. She will find answers to why she was brought up in a completely different world. But these answers will lead to a devastating betrayal that could crack her already fragile world. It is pretty violent (I mean, obviously, the demon wants to kill everything, so...), and there are instances of mild language and non-graphic "encounters," as it were. You have a pretty girl who, who always has an enemy, girl gets caught in the enemy trap, strong person defeats the monster and saves the girl. Happily ever after. The end. Roll credits. But here's the thing, you never see what happened to the villains, you never hear their side of the story, their backstory that caused them to do what they did. Maybe they were banished from the land, that's why they put Sleeping Beauty under a curse that made them sleep for a hundred years. Or maybe their family pressured them into think beauty is everything and they must be the most beautiful in the land to finally get the approval that they did something good, maybe that's why they poisoned Snow White to take her beauty. What if they just wanted to get revenge for Peter Pan taking their most valuable treasure, that meant more to them in the entire world, maybe that's why they had a growing vendetta over Peter Pan. There are many other reasons why villains did what they did, but, did these heroes ever consider that these villains had a family. Like how maybe Gaston might have had a kid who had to grow up with only one parent cause the Beast killed Gaston. Or maybe how Dr. Facilier might have had a daughter, but since he was locked in the shadow realm he never got to have that valuable father-daughter relationship with her. What if Disney is hiding something from us. The story of these kids who had to grow up without a parent or with the burden of being teased because of their lineage. Well, Disney, you may be good at making giant Marvel timelines and making us cry at the end of EVERY Disney Pixar movie. But I'm good at revealing your secrets. A long time ago, lived a handsome prince who ruled over the beautiful kingdom of Greyson. One stormy night, he upset a powerful witch, who then cursed him and his kingdom. Everyone was trapped and could not leave Greyson, and the king was transformed into a monster. The only way to break the curse, is for the king to find true love. But who could truly love a monster. Annie finally gets the nerve to leave a bad relationship. With nothing but an old truck and camper, she starts driving to what she hopes is a new beginning. Somehow, she ends up in the cursed lands of Greyson. She finds she is trapped in a world where time stands still, and magic exist. At first it seems like a paradise. But like they say, when it seems too good to be true, most of the time it is. When there is a misunderstanding, the king accuses Annie of stealing and he kicks her out of the castle. Done with feeling rejected and alone, Annie decides it's time to find a way out. As she tries to find her way out, she starts to learn more about the curse and its people. She also starts to realize maybe the king is not as big of a monster as she thought. Even though most of Greyson is beautiful, something evil is lurking. But what if the villain is actually not so evil at all. What if she's just a girl, being punished not because of what she did. But for what her father has. Is that fair? You don't get to pick your parents. But you do get to pick and decide how you, yourself will act. This is a story about a girl. Maybe evil, maybe good. But under all the labels thrown at her, she's just a girl. Forced into a life she didn't want. Forced to go to school with people who look down on her. Forced by her father to follow a plan. A plan to make the world's most loved boy, the prince, to fall in love with her. All so that her father can get what he wants. But her father didn't think of one slight flaw. Her mother treats her the same way she treats Mal with an iron fist and no love in her heart. They were raised evil and she grow up as her twin sister, but no one believes they're sisters but it doesn't matter when your mother is the most evil being on the face of the Isle they have the gang and she never thought Mal cared about her because villains aren't supposed to care but she does even if she won't admit it. They're all great friends and Carlos and Jay treat her like a sister but she thinks she may be falling for him but there is no love on the Isle so that's impossible.Complete
