Have you ever heard of Lamarck's hypothesis of acquired traits? Trust me, it's nerdy but really cool-even if it is incorrect.

The theory is pretty simple: through the use or disuse of organs, an organism acquires or loses certain traits during its lifetime.

Don't understand?

Here's a couple of examples. If an emu tried to use its useless wings for flying, it would grow bigger wings and be able to fly.

Or if a dolphin got sick of having to come up for air, it would grow gills.
......

This book is about Jenny Wallace. Her day was going normal and she loved her life. She had an internship at a water filtration plant for extra credit in her engineering class and finals were over.

During that day at the plant, however, something goes horribly wrong.

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. The Unknown Heroes(Manuscript)

26 parts Complete

Another ordinary day. That's what I thought. Boring and normal. Until everything was flipped upside down. Kidnapped, tested on, and then set into a new city I've never seen with no clue what was happening, or why. Then my supposed dream reached into the realms of possibility. I could be a hero. (This is just the manuscript. Nothing is complete. The plot is a mess. And theres lots of unnecessary things. The finished version will be much better)
