A bus arrived at the bus stop and she got in first as she was in the front and the rest followed. There was a vacant seat reserved for ladies but she decided to stand. Her eyes were glued at the door and her lips formed a subtle curve when she saw him board the bus before it took off. Glancing through the crowd of people, he moved past everyone and stood beside her. Her heart pounded and she blushed giving a tough competition to the tomato as their arms brushed each other.

His staring session and her glances through the corner of her eyes combined with blushes was disturbed by the conductor who demanded the ticket.

"Pass", they both say in unison. While the conductor brush passed the two, they both look each other and smiled. She gasped at once when he slid his hand and held her by her waist. She pursed her lips and shyly looked at him through the corner of eyes.

"Move ahead, move ahead. Make space for others to get in.", Said the conductor and the people beside them squeezed them closer together by pushing them. His hands were off her waist. He inhaled the soft scent which came from her hair as she now stood ahead of him. Every time the driver stepped on the brakes, they experienced a current pass through their bodies as it collided with the other.

She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. She was thinking what he would say, what his voice sounded like, what he would call her and how would she react to his actions. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way. ❝Bhoot pret nikat nahi aavey, Mahavir jab naam sunavey...❞ It was late at night, when I heard a knock on the window. I froze hearing the knock. Slowly, I got up from my study table and tiptoed toward my bed, trying to decide if I should check the window. But something told me not to, so I climbed on the bed instead. I'm not opening that window. I know how in horror movies, the main character hears some creepy noise and runs straight towards it. Like hello? do they not care there could be a whole-ass ghost waiting to jump on them? Another knock. I squeezed my eyes shut, gripping the blanket tightly. If this is how I die, I swear I'm haunting the ghost back. I was on the verge of running to wake up my parents when I heard a sneeze and then... my name whispered slowly. "Pratiksha." It clicked in an instant. Oh god! I shot up from the bed, hurriedly unlocking and opening the window. Before I could even react, he tumbled through and fell directly on the floor with a thud. I gasped in shock, half laughing but also panicking at the sight of him in my room. "How did you-" I started to ask, but he quickly clamped his hand over my mouth. I stared at him. He leaned in closer and whispered, "Don't make noise, or we'll both be in trouble." What. Is. Happening. ~~~ If overthinking was a sport, she would have won every time. He, on the other hand, one moment, he was the smoothest guy around. The next, he was doing something completely silly just for fun. Together, they were like a perfect mess. But a twist of destiny tore them apart. Six years later, they met again, the love that once bloomed was now buried under layers of hatred, from both sides. Could they move past the hurt, the anger and the six years that had turned them into stranger?
