lacuna (n.)- a blank space, a missing part

Adalia Wagner would rather die than step a foot in the United States of America. However, her dreams were firmly anchored in the hallowed halls of Juilliard, the revered institution where dancers transcended boundaries and embraced greatness. It was a perfect plan, be there for four years, get the degree and return to Europe.

Her horoscope had warned her, that a turbulent phase was arriving in her life. One which Rizwan Ali Khan, the anonymous lord of the dark world brought himself. It was a very simple condition - help him keep his power intact by ruining the enemy from the inside and her freedom shall be returned. The contract never mentioned anything that went along the lines of falling in love with her.

But when the lights dimmed and the curtains closed, maybe the devil got a taste of something so addictive, so sweet that he wanted to savour it until his last breath. A taste which kept his eyes shut but thoughts running all the time.

Adalia Wagner somehow just walked in Rizwan Ali Khan's life, and they ended up filling the lacuna in each other's heart.

He pressed his nose to her neck, inhaling deeply before pulling back slightly to growl in her ear, "You can't run away anymore." he slurred, his voice a sinister whisper. His eyes bore into hers with a mix of anger and possessiveness that made her blood run cold. Her mind raced, desperately trying to think of a way to escape. "Let me go!" she cried, her voice trembling. She tried to pull away, but he only tightened his grip, his other hand moving to her waist to hold her closer. "You're mine," he growled, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "And no one gets to take what's mine, not even your bastard lover".

"Say it." He whispered, stepping closer to me. "I love you too." I finally admitted, my cheeks flushing dark in embarrassment. I couldn't believe I just said that out loud, to a man I was going to marry in few days. "I want to spend my whole life with you." I added slowly. "Forever?" Usama asked, holding my wrist gently as he towered over me. I tried to pull it away but his hold was stronger. My heart was beating so frantically inside my chest due to his proximity that I feared that I might have a heart attack. "Forever." I replied and tugged my hand free.
