Stella Kidd is a singer at the member's only High Rise Club owned by one of Chicago's richest men, her boyfriend Sal Moretti. But theirs was an empty relationship, and Stella knew that she needed to be more than a trinket on someone's arm.

Kelly Severide is a lieutenant at firehouse 51, and in his spare time, he's single, bored.......and lonely. All his romantic liaisons are a series of one night stands, and deep down, he knows that there's an emptiness that needs filling.
