Even though incarcerated criminals are considered by some as the lowest forms of society, they are in fact being unfairly used more as a commodity than anything else by the greedy companies contracted through the federal government. Here I use my own personal experiences to unearth the loop hole that privately owned halfway houses across America are exploiting to get rich on the backs of newly released federal inmates. The revolving doors of The Grossman Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth, Kansas is just another example of the bottomless pit tax payers are forced to throw their money down. Live through my eyes and decide for yourself.

Unbroken Souls (Spencer Reid x Reader POV) by Crim-swiftie-minds
55 parts Complete Mature
There are moments in life that you work so hard for, things your younger self couldn't even imagine you doing... and when those moments arrive, what do you do with them? After joining the Victim Services Branch of the FBI in Quantico, it's been a dream to interact with the BAU and assist a case of theirs. Your lifestyle of late nights and overworking yourself keep you single despite this loneliness you refuse to acknowledge. But when you're constantly reminded of how quickly life can shatter around your feet, leaving you bare and bleeding as you try to put the pieces back together as neatly as you can... only for life to never be the same again, you start to feel it a little more. When the call finally comes, your work pulls you into a case the BAU is tackling, and while it caught you a little off guard, you walk away from the case with something more. Spencer has never shown vulnerability until you came around, and then things changed. From innocent comments to passionate nights, your world shifts as your two souls collide into one. *Disclaimer/Trigger Warning: this story is a work of fiction building off of information gathered from the series Criminal Minds and my own experiences within social service work. This story will contain mature topics such as addiction, mental health, suicide (past tense), trauma, detailed intimacy (idk if I'm qualified to deem this smut, so you be the judge), intercourse, and other topics readers may feel uncomfortable with.
Yeah I was in Juvie. Get over it. by moonlightariaturner
48 parts Complete
Carmen is screwed up. She's been in and out of juvie all her life and seriously there's no place she'd rather be. Until she gets released from juvie unexpectedly, given a probation officer, and forced to live with a normal family and go to a normal school. Carmen doesn't even know the definition of normal. Much less family, or school. Separated from the only system she's known and has stayed constant all her life, she finds it hard to adjust to the world outside the concrete building. The structure and rules aren't the same. In juvie, rules were like opinions, people ignored them. But in the real world, supposedly it wasn't socially acceptable to steal cash, or graffiti the front of the school building. Enter the Harrisons, the family who's taking care of her. The matriarch of the family hates her criminal record. Sammy, the seven-year-old, is too clingy, too innocent, and too naive to understand anything. Then there's Jay, the guy she's forced to share a room with. A self-righteous son of a bitch, Jay doesn't understand Carmen and doesn't understand her self destructive way of thinking. Though he's not bothered by her, he's fascinated with her. The family represents the structure and rules that Carmen doesn't, nor wants to, understand. But as Carmin starts to push back at the structure and rules suddenly rushed into her life, it starts to change. Her whole way of living is thrown off balance, what she deems normal isn't. And through a series of events, she starts to spiral out of control, and she doesn't know if someone can pull her up from that. Carmen was given a second chance, but is it a good chance, or is it just another recipe for getting thrown right back to square one, like she always is? Because second chances don't usually get handed out. And she's about to learn what it means to get a second chance. ____
His Secret (Sequel to Fibonacci) by marleyann20
19 parts Complete
When a certain convict escapes from prison simply due to a lucky chance, the Behavioral Analysis Unit once again finds themselves face to face with a previous foe, one that caused great issue for a particular young genius. The events that ensue threaten to expose one of Doctor Spencer Reid's most deep, hidden secrets. Will all be revealed for his team to judge? Will Spencer finally find peace in a loving relationship? Or will familiar faces triumph in ending the team of profilers once and for all? You'll have to read to find out! Finally, a sequel to a previous Criminal Minds story of mine called Fibonacci! This sequel was a long time coming, and I'm thrilled to finally release it for you all to enjoy. As usual, here are a few disclaimers: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE ORIGNIAL CRIMINAL MINDS CHARACTERS OR STORYLINE MENTIONED IN THIS STORY! (Some of the plot from the television show has been altered at some points solely for the good of this particular story). I ALSO DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE PICTURES ATOP EACH CHAPTER OR THE PICUTRES THAT I COMPILED TO MAKE THE COVER! (Links will be provided to where I found every picture from as to give appropriate credit to the owners). WHILE THIS STORY IS NOT CURRENTLY RATED MATURE, THERE ARE SOME MENTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING: HOMOSEXUAL RELTIONSHIPS (nothing gets too graphic aside from kissing), FAIRLY MILD DEPICTIONS OF VIOLENCE/BODILY HARM (at some points, there are scenes where someone is getting beat up, but nothing more serious than that), DEPICTIONS OF WEAPONS (guns and things like that that one expects in a story about FBI agents).
