She rocked back in forth in a fetal position, her motion rhythmic, anticipating his disappointment. Much to her surprise, He leaned down and gently swept the stubborn pieces of hair out of her face, while placing a firm kiss on her lips.

"Don't ever do that again." He said gruffly, pulling her into his side. 

Her barely audible "Sorry." was hardly heard over the loud sound of their beating hearts.

So many thoughts were running through my mind as Liam and I stood there, face-to-face, ready to do something that could escalate my like for him or even change his perspective of me in a good or bad way.
