it's a rainy day in Biltmore; thick grey clouds are covering the sky in a murky beautiful mist.. the radio whirring in the background not yet registering to me, mother hums in the background, the car rattles softly but none of us mind... moments like these are special, moments like these are rare. I'm on my phone reading though the words barely register to my sullen brain, curiously my sister takes a peek at my phone, "what are you reading?" I jump in shock, hiding my phone on instinct the world slowing registering, the radio more clearer than a buzz, and the conversation brewing around me become more than just soft-spoken murmurs... "nothing" I finally answer; shifting my body away from her, away from the world to glance at the blurry view of green and brown, beyond the teary windows. I shift closer to the door, my interest peaks drawing soft nothings on my hazy canvas, the window of course... eyes brightning ,I wipe away at it to get a clearer view of the trees and the murky skies. And as if welcoming me the clouds clear a little bit to show a patch of a cluster of stars and the dark night sky... I hadn't realized it had gotten so late.
Then suddenly a car whirs by, fast... not fast enough though as I catch a glimpse of a boy by the window, his eyes a dark mixture of brown, prettier than anything I've ever seen before... they seem to gleam gold, richer than the stars; I grip my phone harder between my fingers.. brought back to earth I shake my head of those silly thoughts; and yet I think to myself of how those dark orbs of gold pull you in, how you find yourself falling deeper, by a second or maybe a split-second.. like a deep never ending abyss of something, a never ending abyss of nothing-ness..
A/N this is the first chapter of 'abyss' and my first book on Wattpad, don't really know where it's going, but dare join me on this ride will you?✨
