There was a boy in Genovia born exactly one year before Mia Thermopolis. A boy whose family had always protected the royal family. One night during a storm, the parents of Lucas Whitlock were hit by a drunk driver and died on impact. Lucas Whitlock was now an orphan, but Queen Clarisse took him in to honor his parents. After Lucas turned 12 years old, he was informed about an heir to the Genovian throne, someone who had no idea who they actually were.
