It was the summer before Sophomore year. When y/n moved to Queens after living in Nebraska her entire life, she didn't think she would change but only her location would.
Y/n has never been very talkative, and she certainly wasn't the brightest, so obviously, she was surprised when she got into Midtown, school of Science and Technology. She wasn't the best in English, but she loved working in robotics. Even though sometimes she didn't know what she was doing, it was something she wanted to pursue and be better at.
Y/n lived alone with her mother because her mom was the only one left in her life. Y/n's dad passed away when she was 8 from a tumor in his chest. After years in Nebraska, her mom thought that they needed somewhere new and was offered a job in Queens.
Y/n tried to refuse to leave, but eventually had to give in or she would be homeless. She thought that it would be horrible to just leave all of her friends behind, but the first summer that she experienced in New York was one of the best she'd ever have.
