When I started Grade 3, I thought I knew everything about love.
What. An. Understatement.
The start of the school year was fairly normal, I found out my class, met my teacher and made some new friends. I met Kaitlyn and Alexis, my two best friends at the time.
That was also the year I met Ryan and Will. They couldn't have been more different. Ryan was the troublemaker, he was not doing too well academically, he was constantly in trouble and somehow managed to always be one strike away from suspension. Will was pretty much a genius, he hardly ever got in trouble. I should have known then what it would come to.
One day at break, Kaitlyn admitted to me that although she was getting harassed by Ryan she had the biggest crush on him. Then I realised how cool he was as well and decided to get to know him.
We were great friends, our group included Ryan, Harry, Will and I. We wreaked havoc at school but were hardly ever caught. We felt invincible, untouchable. We climbed trees, zipped around forbidden places and jumped countless fences all under the teachers noses. we always made it back to class but the fun we had on our adventures was incredible. when we sat in the teachers' courtyard, playing imaginary games of medieval times and raging wars, jumping through the crack in the wall to hide behind the staffroom when a teacher walked past. The rush of freedom and adrenaline was indescribable. We did that for months, learning better ways to hide, more magical places to explore and many more games to play.
Of course it was going to happen.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
