The Raindrop's Curse

As a kid, I have always wondered how the clouds I admired from the far away sky transformed into raindrops and fell onto me. Little did I know, raindrops later on evaporates and goes back to where it came from. Then it transforms into clouds and precipitates again, right? Falling into the ground like nothing happened, like it didn't left it before.
