Ariel has been best friends with Tommy Oliver ever since they were kids. One day she finds out that Tommy died. She found that out from a phone call that she got from Jason Lee Scott. She gets really heartbroken by it because she always felt like Tommy was not just her best friend, Tommy was also like a brother to her, like the best bother she could ever have. After a while she starts to get nightmares and keeps it hidden from the others until she finally opens up to her boyfriend about them. Jason then helps her find out why she is having them. The others help her get over it. It takes a while for her to get over his death but she soon gets over it. She helps the dino rangers to defeat Mesagog. Some time after that she fights alongside the samurai rangers. While fighting alongside the samurai rangers she starts to remember all of the good times she had with Tommy throughout the years which in turn helps her get over his death.

When Divatox tried to turn them evil Ariel is the only one that wasn't affected because she is still a power ranger. After they realized who their real friends are Jason and the others escape with Jason carrying Ariel on his back because the temple was going to blow.
