A/N: Haven't seen a reader x Rumia story so far, here it is.

You, Y/N L/N, a nine-and-a-half-year-old boy, lives the rest of his days in his developing childhood, growing and developing with the struggles of adults and reality. You were a lonely, forgotten kid for all you knew. That was, until one night where you decide to run away from everything, instead bump into a small, childlike being whose species you didn't even think was possible, or was just fictional as you thought.

Rumia-chan, the youkai of darkness; you befriend her eventually. Although she isn't exactly human as you thought she behaved, and adjusting to the customs of the Outside World may be difficult. Will you help her change, will you yourself change for her conditions, or will you both drown this world in the darkness from the acceptance that has been pushed away, including yourselves?
