In an attempt to stop major gangs from taking over, and to lessen the effects of illegal Pokemon selling, the citizens of Kanto are forced to live behind white walls with the ideas and intentions of keeping them 'safe'.
But when your freedom, family and spirit are stripped from you what do you do? For Kate Reeville the answer was simple, leave. The only problem was doing just that. In a world ruled by walls, laws and hungry aristocrats how do you stand up to fight?

Frequently Asked Questions: Q - What's special about this fanfiction? A - The books have an architectured story, from mysteries to time travel. From being awfully childish to brutally mature. Also, the protagonist ages. Q - Who are the Main Protagonists and the rivals? A - Red, a character from the Pokemon Video Games is the main protagonist along with his best friend Leaf. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. You get to see a different version of Ash Ketchum (close to how he has been depicted in the anime) in 2 chapters of this book. Q - Is Team Rocket the same as in the anime? A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime. Team Rocket is darker than in any previous versions and has a purpose and a plan other than stealing. Giovanni's plan plays out slowly in the course of three books. Q - It has time travel? A - It does, time travel is hinted at in the first book with the actual "time traveling" in the second book. Q - "I hope the protagonist has a father, hahaha" A - Yes, he does. Serena, a performer that has had feelings for Ash ever since they met at summer camp in Pallet Town a long time ago, reunites with him and helps him take in a crisis in Lumiose City that involves mind controlled Pokemon. Now having to try and get Ash to be himself to be ready for the Kalos League causes her emotional pain and sometimes even physical. Ash has to find himself during his journey in order to be able to take on everything in his way, from his best friend Calem to his Arch Rival Damian... To even his own father. Half Ash and half Alain in the character of Ash Ketchum, there will be a good combination between battle styles and a good amount of combinations between overall personality and maturity. Ash is a teenager by the way! Will Ash win the league? Or because this being his first journey will he fall in the way? Amourshipping is the main ship of this fanfiction by the way! Timeline of Errors
The story is set two years after our protagonists ran away from the crumbling building. Borderline depressed, empty, and disconnected, Valen ceased all forms of battling due to a newfound fear for violence and took up a corporate job. Unfortunately, that was not all she stood to lose as a mysterious power affected the Pokemon Centres and Pokeballs to enforce permadeaths. It is as it was foretold: the curtains will not close until a hero is no more. A bit of a warning, it's meant to be a rather absurd, edgy story of how bad things just happen, people are just doing whatever, and how people are pushed to be "saviours", but some may also find it sort of depressing. I've been told that I describe my thoughts in an uncomfortably visceral way which I never realised. So, if you feel sick, please stop reading right away.
