"Just pretend," Newt instructed her. "Pretend you're not in a box." Marie turned her head to the blond boy, her brown eyes glaring into his. "I'm already one step ahead," she muttered. "I'm in a maze."

The first installment of the Boxes Trilogy. Marie arrives in the Glade only remembering her name just like all of the others. When she arrives, she automatically knows she doesn't belong here. Pretending that she isn't trapped in a cement box is the only thing that gets her through the day, and so does the accompaniment of a certain blond boy with a funny accent who goes by the name Newt. In a place of horrors and confusion, she might just find hope in the only person that seems to trust her. Phase one is in progress and everything is going to change.

I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THE MAZE RUNNER. Everything in this story was created by the author of TMR, James Dashner. The only things of my creation is Marie and a few other Gladers.

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
