Talia Elaine works hard for the things she has and it hasn't always been easy. Her father getting locked up for murder separated her and younger brother into foster care where, unfortunately, life taught her the hard way nobody is there for you but yourself. Try as she may to keep a smile on her face, there's a lot that Talia keeps buried and walls she's built to keep herself safe. Very few people know who she is beyond those walls and that's exactly how she intends to keep it. Frances Lorenzo is a driven man. He has bent over backwards to make it where he is in life and is lucky to have had his supportive family by side to see him through all the hardships. Dream job, financially stable, great friends, but he craves more. A partner in life. Someone to guide and care for, to love, to grow with. Someone who will make his father proud. Talia let's Frances guide her into a world of new wild experiences while Frances does everything he can to earn Talia's heart and trust the best way he knows how. Maybe what she's always pushed away was exactly what she needed.

Especially not the type of romance that novelist Elisa Gilmore writes about. Stalkers? Bodyguards? Office rivals? Puh-leeze! Determined to prove to her that cheesy tropes aren't the way to a woman's heart, he acts out everything she's written... but will he lose his own heart in the process? Run." Elisa crossed her arms. "No. I'm not scared of him." Darien glared at her impatiently. "Fine. If you won't run from him, then run from me." "Excuse me?" "Here's another one of your tropes: I catch you, I kiss you." "That's not the trope! It's supposed to be 'I catch you, I...'" Elisa cleared her throat and paraphrased, "'...ravish you.'" The corner of his lip quirked. "'Ravish'?" "Shut up, I'm just correcting you." He stepped closer, his eyes burning into her. "Do you want an upgrade? Because I'm down for that if you are." "I don't even want the kiss!" His eyes widened. "Then...run."
