"Freya! Freya? Can you hear me!? Get the hell down!"
I gawk at Chris.
My head is forced down with some aggressiveness, so I don't resist. I feel a spray of warm liquid on my face. Slowly, I lift my hand up to my face and wipe my hand across the liquid. I stare down in shock and tremble uncontrollably. Blood. I look around at my surroundings, the man I came here with, the man I trusted with my
own life, is dead.
"STOP!" I cry. "He's dead okay? Call an ambulance he's bleeding... He's dead!" I breathe heavily.
I panic and I hear the shouting die off. It fell silent completely. A crunch on the broken glass from the shop window brings my attention to what is actually happening. I freeze in my tracks and sit still, reach for Chris' lifeless hand and clench it behind the safety of the counter. I shut my eyes tightly. I breathe. Then I feel warm hands over my mouth, I begin to scream, but nothing comes out. I let go of my Chris. I black out.
