This story takes place in the early 1900's in Japan. This is about a 16 year old named Akane Yamada. She lives with her grandfather and her little brother, Yoru Yamada. A day comes up to where men are drafted to fight in a war, and Akane's grandfather is the only man who can fight in her family. Due to his old age, he is not able to fight as good, and would most likely die in the war. So to protect the grandfather, Akane takes his place to fight since she is trained, and does not want to lose her grandfather. She sneaks off the night before the war, and trains with the other men to stop the demon that wants to harm Japan.
