Aurelia and Bellona live in a world where everything is decided for them. Ever since they were given The System, they have been following a guide- a guide that would lead them to a purpose, picked just for them. On their sixteenth birthday, the two girls are given The Ranking, instructions on who they have to be. But who you have to be is not the same as who you want to be. The System and Ranking only exist to make the leaders of Alremmia have control over their citizens. To them, freedom is a weakness. 

But it can also be a strength. A deadly one.
