Only the very oldest people remembered a time when humans could see in color. Seventeen-year-old Nora Whitlock lives in Georgia during 1930. The only thing missing from her world is the color that fills our everyday lives. Living in a life devoid of color, Nora finds comfort in her brother Emmett, and her only friend Archie Alden when the lack of color drives her to a state of insanity.
