After successfully hiding that he committed a fraud at the V.R.T.N.D, fate catches up to him when Walker fails to get a lead on a case involving the murder of a woman named Brittany. He reluctantly needs to move back to his dirty past, to get help from people he once badly betrayed. 

Things take a dark turn once he realizes that this case is extremely unique and too dangerous to solve because supernatural forces were major contributors to Brittany's death. How does he explain the truth to the VRTND without seeming crazy? Are there consequences of interfering with the plans of unseen powers? 

How will he solve this case without hurting the people who truly believe him on this case? The more he realizes things about the case, the more he questions his beliefs. What side will he be partnering with and will he uncover the messy secrets concerning her death before time runs out? Only one way to find out.
