In the Elven Empire's largest coastal city, a Forest Elven bounty hunter called Itzal realizes that strange things are happening in the ranks of the guards. He decides to investigate it by diving head-first into trouble and eventually runs into a group of unnaturally strong enemies, some of which have small crystals implanted in their bodies.

Meanwhile, in the northern Human Kingdom, a medicine man named Ambrose finds a village where people suffer from a mysterious disease. He discovers that it can be traced back to a strange crystalline formation, the existence of which threatens the entire village.

Another crystal is causing issues in the capital of the Elven Empire, where it is making people fall into an odd sort of coma. When one of her servants falls victim to it, the High Elven noblewoman and scholar Maiara decides to take it upon herself to investigate what might be causing this

Not long after their successes, the three of them are gathered by a High Elven prince and sent out to investigate other crystal-related incidents. This leads them deep into the Forest Elven autonomous zone, where they are confronted with the politically sensitive situation regarding the area's growing resistance to the High Elven rule. They slowly start to learn more about the mysterious magic they are gifted with, but the origin of the crystals remains a mystery.

To make ends meet now that her husband has died in combat, Patrice accepts the only job going in the small town-backbreaking work picking fruit for the local farmer. When the farmer asks Patrice to move the cows into the lower field, she thinks nothing of it until one cow decides to go on an adventure through the wrong gate. After moving the cow, Patrice notices a glowing gem in the long grass. Patrice decides that it has to be returned to its owner and assumes that the shadowy figure in the distance is that person. Transfixed by the stone and its magical powers, Patrice chases after the mysterious figure, forgetting about the world behind her. The true owner is Jarek, a merciless elf king who has little time for the games that the crystal is playing. Jarek's plans for returning to his world after the battle to save the humans in their global war are thrown into disarray when he realises that the stone will not return to him. Jarek has no choice but to do everything within his power to get it back. Without the crystal, he will die. One small stone will cause chaos for Jarek and Patrice when it binds itself to her and refuses its rightful owner. Determined to get his crystal back, Jarek takes Patrice to his world. He knows that the clerics will have an answer. Neither Jarek nor Patrice will be pleased with what they offer. With time running out, they must do what is necessary to save a king with no heir. © This story is copyrighted. The Last Dragon

21 parts Complete

Growing up as an apprentice healer in the castle, Ilia loved listening to the stories the knight-mages told. Tales of valour and glory, adventures in the wilderness, things she'd never see while she's trapped behind the stone walls. When knights show up with wounds from battle, and Ilia has new visions and nightmares, her powers flare wildly. What's happening to her? Dragons are rare. When word reaches the castle that a dragon was slaughtered, her life is changed forever. Ilia feels something pulling at her inside. She must help. What can a mere student do when the best Knight-mages are already out there, seeking the last dragons to protect them? With her powers acting up, can she trust what she feels? With nothing more than feelings to go on, Ilia leaves the safety of the castle, the only place she's ever known. Can she find and protect dragons before it's too late? Are her powers tied to the dragons somehow? If so, what happens if the last dragon dies? Will she die, too?
