Hardships. We've all had them. Don't try to deny the fact, because I know it's true. It doesn't matter who you are, you've suffered at some point in your life. But just because you've suffered doesn't mean it was really significant. Your "suffering" may have been caused by a broken nail, while others are dying in from famine or disease. Esmeralda-Aphrodite Bonaventura is no different from the rest of us. She's had her fair share of hardships, more than her fair share really. One may wonder how she dealt with all of the stress. Her mother always told her too look to her fairy-tales from her childhood for reassurance. It helped too. It helped with her with childhood bullies, talent show pre-jitters, and kindergarten crushes. Her mother always knew what was best for her daughter. However, something happened to change all of that. Her father, the mayor of a small town, had suddenly grown apart with his only daughter. She is to move in with her uncle in the bustling city of New York, New York. And within that city is an increased number of gang activity. Why must Esmeralda make the sudden change in her life? She was unfortunate enough to lose the one person who knew her inside and out, her mother. After moving in to the large city, the wrong things start to cross Esmeralda's path, things that her nor her parents would ever want to have her witness. But what can she do? Her father seems to be completely oblivious to having a daughter and her uncle is overbearing to the point to where it's suffocating. She's trying to find something to distract her from her loss. But is this the right thing? She turns to her sanctuary just like she did when she was little, but something different occurs. Something a little more real. Something a little more magical. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Author's Note- I am SO excited about starting this series. I've always loved fairy-tales (original ones especially) so this is going to be SUPER fun to write! ENJOY THE BOOK!
