As my mother took my hands into her's I felt my heart sink. My legs folded underneath me, I cried out for my brother. A part of me hoped he'd hear me. Like the body laying in the other room still had some life left in him. My mother wrapped her arms around me and lifted me up, "Hush my child," She whispered, "Let him rest. He has fought long enough." But he hadn't. He was only here for a second. Why couldn't he have stayed? Why didn't I say goodbye? RANKINGS: #1 - shurixreader (12/9/22)

Natasha Romanoff x Female Reader You're a grad student just trying to make it by in NYC, coming from a loving single mother who lives in Pennsylvania. And you have a routine. You take online classes, volunteer at the soup kitchen once a week, get random calls out of the blue to assist a well known billionaire on the down low, and have one night stands where everyone's happy. Except. Maybe you're not happy because you're missing something. And maybe that something is about to wreck your routine for good.
