Hecate and her Mother, Sonya, have been trying anything and everything to save Hecate's brother, Aeuron from dying. Nothing has worked and they only have five months before the exact date he's supposed to meet his demise. After a near fatal accidenr leads to Sonya's arrest, Hecate and her brother are sent to live with their grandparents. Hecate vows to Sonya that she will continue the crusade to save Aeuron's life, however as time goes by at their grandparents where hidden pasts and dark secrets come to light, Hecate begins to realize her brother isn't the only one who needs saving.
