The sounds of battle cries thrilled my body. Adrenaline was sent into my veins. I ran swiftly towards one person. One man who wore the most protection amongst the others. The man who presented the only real threat to me. We clashed swords and began to fight. My instincts allowed me to ignore the cries of my sisters and focus on this enemy. Quickly this man made me lose track of my footing against the rocky ground we were on. And I was hit to fall upon the sharp edge of rocks harshly. My sword was taken away. And this forced me to fight hand to hand. My teeth gritted as I jumped up. I wasn’t going to go down easy. My helmet fell off and my long wild locks went down. The man’s eyes widened for a split second, I took this chance to throw a hit down his neck. Making his helmet come off. But a harsh blow to my stomach made me fall once again. I began to fight for an opening to rise up again but the man had his tight grip on me. And with sorrow in his eyes, his sword went down. My eyes widened and I managed to move enough for it to miss my chest and slice my gut. The hot air burned my fresh wound as blood came out. I breathed in sharp deep breaths. It was painful but it wasn’t something I hadn’t experienced before. I could hand moving away from here to a certain distance. But I had to get free of the man’s grip. It was too late though, he drew his sword again and stabbed me right in the heart. Just as his name was escaping my lips.

I glanced right to see cabinets stocked with medicine, then left, where a familiar pair of dull gray eyes met my violet ones. Relief, care, guilt, and confusion swirled in those stormy irises. Confusion...over what I was. The question I dreaded to answer. I suddenly died while reading greek mythology. I know! I know! It's so cliche! I am very aware of that fact! But you're correct, I got reincarnated inside of Greek mythology. I became a forest nymph with very ordinary powers and an ordinary nymph-like face. I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. As I got older, my senses started to sharpen. I could see and hear, but the one thing I couldn't see was color. All I saw was black and gray. My mother was very furry, but so was I. I would often smell her, and I liked how her scent smelled sweet. When I could, I would find food around a dumpster. We were learning more as we got older. I had two sisters and two brothers, as I was one of the girls. We spoke to each other often, my siblings and me. "Let's go, children." Mother said to us in a soft voice. We knew how to communicate. When we fought over food mother, would tell at us. I didn't like being in trouble. I was usually quiet. One day I learned the soft surface that I had encountered was a human hand. I had felt that same surface when a human came up to us. The human loaded all of us in their vehicle. We came upon this strange building. The human let us out in this strange building.
