Why do bad things always happen?(Stranger Things)

Stranger things book but everything goes wrong every single day in all of their lives, Mike is in the hospital every nine months, Lucas has to protect his sister, Dustin is protecting their dad from their mom, Max has to deal with Billy and his weird friends, Will has to suffer with the fact his dad is still in his life, and Eleven has to hide herself so she wont be taken again. And onto of that they get bullied and are all equally mentally ill.
