"Some people say that friendships aren't meant to last forever. Something about it always felt true but I never seemed to believe that, until now. Maya and I didn't grow apart, she didn't betray me or fought me over a guy which is the reason to why many friendships end. In my case, our friendship ended the second she stopped breathing.

The police says that she was attacked by a mountain lion, but I saw her dead body and whatever it was that killed her couldn't have   been a mountain lion. Why would a mountain lion only attack her neck? Sheriff Adams kicked me out as soon as I stepped foot in the morgue and when I asked him about it, he told me that I had a wild fantasy, but I know what I saw and I'm going to find answers.

Now, I'm not crazy. I'm not going to say that it was a vampire who killed her because as much as I wish The Vampire Diaries would be my reality, it's not and such creatures doesn't exist.

She discovers, after a sneaky phone call from Galen, that they were trying to take her to a remote island far from California and were already almost at the coast. Camila and Isabel both set out to track her down and it's a real battle for all of them as they struggle to free her before they can get her on the boat to the island- and keep from being killed too.
