A twist on the clichéd story of the lonely girl who is saved by the perfect boy.
I continue dashing down the hallway, hoping to reach the bathroom. Once it's in sight, my legs start to get heavier and my head starts to pound. I fall to the ground in the middle of the hallway. I put my head between my legs, trying to get air into my lungs, but it's not working. My throat is closing up and and I can't breathe.
My vision is blurred, and I'm on the edge of losing consciousness. In through your nose, out through your mouth, I tell myself. My head feels like it's going to explode. Just breathe, Sicily, in through your nose out through your mouth.
After doing this for a few minutes, I slowly start to feel the air getting to my lungs. I can feel my throat opening up and the pain finally starts to subside. I will never underestimate breathing again.
