I was 10 and she was 6. That didn't matter in the end, on this world there are many breeds of monsters that don't hold mercy. That night all I wished was to be tucking in my little sister in bed and await my mother's soft kiss on my forehead before retiring to a world of warmth under my blankets. But instead my sister and I felt what no child should ever feel, or see what no human on this world should see. A tiny body mangled and splattered on walls, fear. We cried and screamed but no one found us, we begged and he smiled with his bright white teeth.

Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!"
