"You can be an arrogant sometimes, you know that?" "Arrogant? No, you're thinking of confidence," Ash said with a wink. "That's what happens when you're as talented as me." The blue eyed boy rolled his eyes. "No, definitely arrogance." "You're just jealous because I'm better with a sword than you." She laughed. He looked at her with his ice blue eyes for a long moment and then sighed. "You're insufferable." "Oh and I know it." Ash had basically been raised with weapons in her hands. She always joked that she'd learned to kill a man before she'd learned how to seduce one. Both are important for the survival of a women in the court (although her father would disagree with the former). He'd always said, "Princesses don't have to fight." And so after a tournament gone wrong, Ash escaped to the Araluen fief, Redmont, where she seeks out her one and only hero, Will Treaty, in hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming a Ranger. She just doesn't realize that when doing so, she'll explore far-away lands, experience love, and maybe even discover herself.
