"Give up, Red." "Never." He backs me into the counter, pinning me, the distance between us closing rapidly. When he's this close, less than a foot away, I really wonder just how tall he actually is. Much taller than me. The counter bites my back as his words press closer than his body. I feel a shiver ripple through me from the warmth falling in waves off his chest.
