Long before the events on the Kerberos, Daniel and Maura create their first narrative: a cottage in the Highlands where they live happily ever after as a family with their son Elliot.
But as the simulation glitches, Maura keeps having visions which eventually leads villagers to believe she's a witch and hunt her down. She manages to escape, leaving her husband and son behind to be trialed and sold to nearby slavers.

After roaming England in a slave convoy, Daniel is eventually sold to 2 French aristocrats: Clémence and her husband Lucien. Upon their arrival in France, Daniel realises that things are not what they appear as he meets very familiar faces from their past.
