Just a typical day I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock. I quickly get up and get dressed for school and go outside to wait for the bus. I sit on the front porch and wait in silence. This seems like to be the quietest time of the day. It's not long before I realize the bus is twenty minutes late. I decided to go back inside. The house seems to be quieter than outside which was unusual for normal week days. I walk through my dining room to sit at our kitchen table but I am startled to find that our back door was left wide open. At this early in the morning the house is pitch black so my mom wouldn't open it to let in some sunlight. All of the sudden I hear a loud crash from behind me. I turn to see a stumbling dark figure in the corner of the dining room. It begins to limp towards me…

An eerie silence echoed through the house at the end of Yellow Brooke Street, the wind outside slammed toward the wooden walls making a whistle inside the house from the cracked windows; the front door made a thud each time it slammed toward the wall and the screams from the dead gave the house an uneasiness to it. I stood before the house, while my friends were excited to do the exact opposite of what our parents told us to; I was not. I trusted my mother when she told us to never get close to this place. "You guys ready?" Diana said with joy in her voice, I stuttered. "No.." the fear in my voice was obvious, though no one seemed to care. Dan glanced at me and chuckled. "Really? It's just a house." "It's a haunted house." I said nervously. "Maybe we should trust our parents on this, they told us that it isn't safe for a reason." "You wimp." Diana joked, she wasn't serious; it was just to get me with them and of course she knew that it would work. "It's fine if you don't want to Luna." Lucas said, at least he was cool about it. "I-I'm not a wimp!" I stumbled on my words. "Yey!" Diana said happily and rushed toward me with her arms open. "I'll buy you McDonalds after this." I hugged her, even though I wasn't happy. I looked at the time. 12.20am
