The Promises of Time

An old pocket watch is unveiled at a museum, to everyone it looks like a normal, ancient pocket watch but to Archie McLeary, a 22-year-old University student it's different, golden whisps seem to float off of it, dissipating before it touches the glass case surrounding it.

Then the rumours start, rumours of an ancient darkness waking up as withered bodies begin to crop up around town, bodies that look like they were aged rapidly, and the moment said bodies are touched, they crumble to dust, leaving them unidentifiable until the missing person reports start coming in.

Eventually, it reaches the point where Archie has no choice but to break into the Museum and steal the pocket watch, cause whatever or whoever this darkness is, it's stealing other people's time and adding it to its own.
