The Mountain God's First Love

Zhou Zishu was once a powerful god worshipped by the people who lived at the foot of a mountain where he resided. As time moved on, however, those who used to believe in him came to pass and he was slowly forgotten by men. Having been abandoned by his devotees, Zhou Zishu thus decided to fall into slumber, waiting for the day when his existence would cease.

Hundreds of years later, the dormant ancient god was suddenly woken up by a little girl who placed a small candy offering on his dilapidated shrine. The girl, Gu Xiang, had apparently wandered too deep into the forest when playing around and wanted Zhou Zishu to help her get back home safely. Zhou Zishu agreed to this as he had received her offering and promised to protect her.

Little did the ancient god know that his decision to help this little mortal girl would lead him to a fateful encounter with the man who'd change his entire life.
